Love my XG30.
I have a, what looks like a badge holder on the front of my bonnet.
Dont know what its for, as all the badges available to buy look completely different? does anyone know if these cars ever came with a bonnet emblem/badge. ??

I took delivery of a new XG30 in 2001 as a company car. Three years later I retired, but kept the car. I moved to Malta in 2004 (having driven from the UK) to find that registration rules here had changed following EU accession, and I would be required to pay £16,000 just to register the car. All illegal, of course, according to Brussels. The law has just changed here, so I reimported the car and had it registered. Nine years old now and with just 23k miles, it looks and drives as if it were brand new. The best thing is that the body styling has not dated, even Mercedes copied it for the Maybach! The interior is almost identical to the current Lincoln Town Car. It has been a long and unneccesary wait, but worth it.

We are currently breaking a Y/01 Hyundai XG30 in Silver with 87,000 miles. It's had one owner from new and is very straight - panels, lights, wheels, interior. One of the pistons has a hole in it so the bottom end of the engine is no good. Please call Patrick Stone on 07836 375577 if you need and parts at sensible prices. I've had a '51' black XG30 from new, and it's only done about 25,000 miles. I absolutely adore it.

A year ago the alternator went, and the electrics have been a little dodgy. I've know idea how many fuses for the front lighter socket I've been through. This weekend the new alternator went after only 2,000 miles (and just outside warranty). Does anyone know if this is a common problem with this car?

you have been very unlucky to have the first one go at that low mileage and even more so to have the second one fail at 2,000 miles. alternator fail is not uncommon but not this bad

Internally beautiful, externally- somewhat different, but with Jag and Merc credentals. A nice, smooth, executive cruisemobile. What a bargain for the discening motorist!
